About Me – Collin Grensing

Hi, I’m Collin Grensing, founder of this platform, professional photographer, and lifelong Marco Island resident.

For over 18 years, I’ve called Marco Island home. Growing up here gave me a deep appreciation for the Gulf Coast, the sunsets, the water, the small businesses, and most importantly, the people who make this island special.

But my passion for photography didn’t start with a camera.

It started with loss.

How Photography Became Personal

I was very close with my grandfather. We spent countless hours together, especially on the golf course. He was a huge part of my life and someone I looked up to deeply.

When he passed away from COVID during my freshman year of high school, I was only 15 years old.

What hit me the hardest wasn’t just the loss, it was realizing how few photos I had of us together.

Even though I saw him all the time, we rarely stopped to capture those moments. And once they’re gone, you can’t recreate them.

That realization changed me.

I made a promise to myself that I would help other families capture the moments they might otherwise overlook, so they always have something to hold onto.

Photography became more than a business.
It became a responsibility.

Why I Care So Much About What I Do

When I photograph a family on the beach, I’m not just taking pictures.

I’m freezing time.

The way your kids laugh.
The way you hold hands without thinking.
The way the sunset lights up the people you love most.

Those images become heirlooms. They become memories you can physically revisit years from now.

That’s why I take it seriously. That’s why I care about the details. That’s why I plan every session around timing and environment.

Because one day, those photos might mean everything.

My Entrepreneurial Journey

My passion for building things started early. At just 13 years old, I launched my first company, handcrafting fishing lures from raw materials and selling them to local bait shops and fishing charters across Florida.

That experience taught me discipline, consistency, and what it takes to build something from the ground up.

Today, I bring that same mindset into photography and into this platform, highlighting the best businesses in Marco Island while documenting the people who make this place special.
